Born in 1959 and raised in Basle/Switzerland.

Studies include botany, zoology and geography at the University of Basle.
Later studies in scientific photography at the University of Basle and ETH Zuerich.
Studies in photography at the School of Design and Art in Basle.

Developed educational programs for the Botanical Garden in Brueglingen/Basle.
Assistant for teaching at the Pharmaceutical Institute at the University of Basle.
Was a co-author of the «Phytopharmaka Kompendium», a dictionary
of medicinal plants.

Since 1991 self-employed photographer and owner of a specialized photo studio
and photo archive for plants.
